A close friend's father decided to pull up stakes and take the family to sea, so my friend grew up living aboard their yacht (on the right in the painting). The Sea Lanes sank after being rammed by the boat on the left during Hurricane Betsy in the Florida Keys, about 30-some odd years ago. I painted this memory from a faded and tattered old black and white photo, creating hurricane skies rather than the bright sun in the photo. This painting currently resides in the artist's daughter's home.
